Testimonials From Our Residents
"...never been disappointed."
“Finding the right place for your relative or loved one is daunting. When it was time for me to find a home for my Auntie in Olympia, I set out on a search with a laundry list of must-haves. I believe I went to every assisted living/group home in the vicinity. The only criteria she had at the time was the residence could not be too big. What we found was the Sequoia. It checked all of the boxes on our list.
My Aunt has lived at the Sequoia since 2010. Both of us have never been disappointed. Caregivers have made her comfortable; events have surpassed our expectations; she has nutritious meals and has come to like and respect both other residents and staff. Folks who work behind the scenes (office) and those who are in the forefront are kind, attentive and bring with them daily a fine sense of humor.
I am grateful to past and present staff for their care, compassion and consideration. Only a month from 97 years of age, my Aunt is thriving thanks in part to her care for the Sequoia family."

"...caring, loving and thoughtful."
“For the four years I have lived here at The Sequoia I have found the staff, as well as management, to be caring, loving and thoughtful. I feel like I have my independence here but still can get help when I need it."
~ Elsie Spence, Resident, The Sequoia Assisted Living Community
"All the people here are wonderful."
"I'm 93 years old and if the good Lord gives me another 10 years, I would want to spend them at The Sequoia. All the people here are wonderful."
~ F. Grano, Resident, The Sequoia Assisted Living Community
"...attention to detail by caregivers..."
"What I appreciate most is the attention to detail by caregivers when needed; the spaciousness of my room; the reliability of the heat; and the kindness of all staff when needed."
~ Pat Weeks, Resident, The Sequoia Assisted Living Community
"...motivated and caring group of staff..."
"In my 57 working years I have never met such a motivated and caring group of staff such as those here at Sequoia. I could say a lot but I will dedicate this poem sent by my cousin in Florida. It seems to describe Sequoia's staff perfectly:"
Blessed in Aging
by Esther Mary Walker
Blessed are they who understand
My faltering step and shaking hand
Blessed, who know my ears today
Must strain to hear the things they say.
Blessed are those who seem to know
My eyes are dim and my mind is slow
Blessed are those who look away
When I spilled tea that weary day.
Blessed are they who, with cheery smile
Stopped to chat for a little while
Blessed are they who know the way
To bring back memories of yesterday.
Blessed are those who never say
"You've told that story twice today"
Blessed are they who make it known
That I am loved, respected and not alone.
And blessed are they who will ease the days
Of my journey home, in loving ways.
~ Diana Holloway, Professional Caregiver
"...it is a family."
"The Sequoia is not just a facility...it is a family. My Mom lived there for three years. We made many friends - residents and staff. Most of the staff have been there a while and that makes the residents feel more comfortable and secure. Because of all the wonderful people that live and work at The Sequoia, I still go visit several times a week. I have requested my name be put on the waiting list so I can be sure of getting a room when the time comes. I can hardly wait!"
